Pilot Conditioning Day #1

It all starts at 6:00 AM.

According to most veteran players, if you can get through these running drills then the rest of the season is easy.  When I first heard that I found that difficult to believe, but the way the players walk off the field when it’s over suggest otherwise.  Coach Peck sets the tone early during these conditioning work outs.  The cones are marked at 100 yards, and after a few stretching exercises, it’s nothing but sprints up and down the field.

“Stay off your knees!  Stay off your knees!  That shows weakness!”

The new guys seemed excited to be out there.  Everyone showed up on time ready to work.  Winston and Nick told everybody to run hard now, “…cause if you don’t we’ll be here on Saturday.”   The leadership is starting early.

These are a few pictures from the first day of conditioning at Findlay College Prep.
